This table is kept current. A program is listed before its links appear anywhere on the site, not after.
What the money does not buy
Placement. No vendor has paid to appear in a comparison, to appear higher in one, or to have a competitor left out.
Wording. No vendor has reviewed, approved, or requested changes to any page here before publication.
A recommendation. Where a service with no affiliate program is the right answer, it appears in the table alongside the ones that pay. You will find providers recommended on this site that pay us nothing, and providers that pay us well recommended against for specific situations.
Why you should still read us skeptically
An affiliate relationship is a real conflict of interest and saying otherwise would be dishonest. The only defence we can offer is one you can verify:
- Every price links to the vendor’s own page, with the date it was checked
- Where we could not verify a figure, we say we could not, instead of using someone else’s number
- Where our reasoning is inference rather than a documented fact, it is labelled as inference
If a page here recommends something and you cannot follow the numbers to a source, that is a failure on our part. Tell us.
